$22,000 worth of heroin seized in Fargo-Moorhead drug bust
MOORHEAD — Narcotics officers investigating a suspected heroin distributor seized tens of thousands of dollars of the drug while executing search warrants in Fargo and Moorhead on Friday, Feb. 1.
Detectives seized 110 grams of heroin — with an estimated street value of $22,000. They also seized about $5,000 in cash and 3 grams of marijuana while searching homes associated with the suspect in both cities, the Moorhead Police Department said in a news release.
Police arrested the suspected dealer, 24-year-old Myrone Barry Bell of Moorhead. He's expected to face a felony first-degree controlled substance charge in Minnesota and a charge of heroin possession with intent to deliver in North Dakota.
A police official said it's a significant bust.
"It's not just a dealer, it's a distributor," said Moorhead Police Capt. Deric Swenson, explaining that major drug seizures like this do more to take drugs off the street.
