WEST FARGO — A man is in custody after police say he led them on a car chase in West Fargo on Sunday, September 15.
According to the West Fargo Police Department, the incident started at approximately 11 p.m. when an officer attempted to make a traffic stop at 17th St. E. and Starr Avenue for a vehicle with a malfunctioning headlight but the driver didn't stop.
Police say a short pursuit started through the Brookwood Trailer Park and stopped in the 100 block of 12th Street E. with speeds never going over 40 mph.
The driver was arrested and identified as Robert Mitchel, 28, of Fargo. A search of the vehicle found a small amount of marijuana and a loaded handgun, police say.
Mitchel was charged with fleeing in a motor vehicle, driving under suspension and was cited for the marijuana.
