WEST FARGO — Police are hoping the public can help identify a suspect believed to have robbed a West Fargo sandwich shop early Tuesday evening, June 9.

The Red River Regional Dispatch Center confirmed there was a call for a robbery around 7:45 p.m. at Jimmy John's, 749 23rd Ave. E., which is off of Veteran's Boulevard near Costco.

According to a news release from the West Fargo Police Department, the suspect entered the store, pointed a handgun at an employee and demanded money. The staff member opened the safe and complied with the demands, police said.

The suspect was described to officers as a light-skinned 5-foot-6 African-American male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood up and a black cloth face mask. The suspect left out the back door and got into a white vehicle and drove west into River's Bend where he abandoned the vehicle.
