BUFFALO, N.D. — A drunken driver in a stolen truck on Interstate 94 led the North Dakota Highway Patrol on an eight-mile chase near Buffalo, 42 miles west of Fargo, Thursday afternoon, June 18, according to a news release from the patrol.

At approximately 1:40 p.m., the patrol responded to a report of a motorist recklessly driving across the roadway on eastbound I-94 and nearly crashing into two other cars, the release said. The patrol attempted to stop the driver near mile marker 328. The vehicle fled the stop at a high rate of speed, at which point the patrol began a pursuit.

Near mile marker 336 between Casselton and Mapleton, the vehicle slowed down and troopers successfully used a pursuit intervention technique to disable the vehicle in the median, according to the release.

The suspect, 23-year-old Olivia Adams, of Moorhead, Minn., was arrested without further incident.

The vehicle Adams was driving, a 2007 Chevrolet Colorado, was reported stolen in Fargo earlier on Thursday. Adams was charged with driving under the influence, driving under suspension, fleeing a peace officer, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and reckless endangerment.
