West Fargo Public schools finally had their groundbreaking ceremony in Horace Monday for their two new schools.

After canceling twice because of the weather - dozens of people gathered in the parking lot of Horace Lutheran Church. Heritage Middle school will be just off County Road 17 near the church.

The ceremony couldn't be on the grounds because of construction.

The school will be home to the the Heritage Hawks with black and old gold as their colors.

"You know they've always been part of our school district and now it's just being able to bring in our new additions and our new middle school and high school down in this area is pretty exciting," said Heritage Middle School's future principal, Erin Spies.

The middle school will be ready by 2020 and the high school by 2021.
