On Aug. 1, 1989 Curt Jones began his tenure as Athletic Director of West Fargo High School. Jones, a 1974 graduate of West Fargo, received bachelor's degree in physical education in 1 979 and his master’s in education in 1984. He was involved with Bison football during the time he worked on both his degrees, including being on the coaching staff for two national championships in the 1980s. Jones led the growth of West Fargo athletics until his retirement in 2014.
In 2004, after 32 years of sharing space in St. Andrew Lutheran Church in West Fargo, Headstart prepared to move to the Lodoen Center for the new school year. The St. Andrew congregation and the Headstart program had grown over the years, and the move to the Lodoen Center would give Headstart the opportunity to interact with other early-childhood education programs in a facility that had been designed to meet the needs of small children.
