In early August 1994, the West Fargo School Board approved a budget for the 1994-95 school year that called for $20.2 million in expenditures, a significant increase from the 1993-94 budget of $15 million. Enrollment was static; 4,774 in 1993-94-4,766 in 1994-95. In comparison, the 2018-19 West Fargo School District budget was $207.3 million with enrollment estimated at 11,935.
The second week of August 2004, the headline of the Sports section read “Former Packers help Bison move to D-1.” It highlighted Tyler Roehl who and been part of two consecutive Packer state football championships and was North Dakota Class 1AAA Player of the Year. Roehl and Dan Dardis joined former Packer Brian Erenberg as North Dakota State University Bison for the team’s first D-1 season. Roehl later joined the Bison coaching staff where he is now the offensive coordinator.
