David L. Steedsman, West Fargo Troop 232, achieved the rank of Eagle Scout on May 9.

Eagle Scout is the highest rank given by the Boy Scouts of America. He is the son of Duane and Lori Steedsman.

Steedsman’s Eagle Scout project was making 12 wood donation boxes for the Fort Ransom Sodbusters Association. Steedsman has earned 41 merit badges to date. He has served as quartermaster, assistant patrol leader, chaplain’s aide, historian and scribe. He has attended the Northern Tier High Adventure Dog Sled Musher Camp twice.

This summer he was a cook at Camp Wilderness and continues to volunteer for weekend events held at the camp. Steedsman is also a member of the Venture Crew 007, FM Ambulance Explorers and is a senior at West Fargo High School.

Steedsman will be recognized in ceremonies at 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, at the Jon L. Wanzek Center for Scouting, 4200 19th Ave. S., Fargo.
