West Fargo High School

Parker Degerness, a senior at West Fargo High School from West Fargo was named the West Fargo Exchange Club’s Student of the Month for October.

Degerness’ parents are Dan and Joan Degerness.

4.20 GPA

Academics: Earned Academic letters and Fine Arts Letters in Band and Choir.

National Honor Society: Member.

Thespian Society: Member.

Choir: Sings in the Concert Choir and Madrigals for four years. Been a member of All State Choir member for 3 years and has been a State Solo and Ensemble Contest winner- three years.

Band: Played percussion in the Wind Ensemble and Jazz band for four years.

Theatre: Involved in multiple productions including: Damn Yankees, The Secret Garden, Addams Family and Moon Over Buffalo.

Trollwood: Involved at since he was in elementary school. He has taken classes every summer and he was a Teaching Assistant for the Advanced Tap Class this past summer. Has performed in the Trollwood Mainstage Musicals of the Little Mermaid (2016), Beauty and the Beast (2017), Hello Dolly! (2018) and Freaky Friday (2019). He has also been a Student Leader in Vocal/Piano for the Totally Trollwood Musical for three summers.

Community Involvement: Member of the High School Ministry at Hope Lutheran Church in Fargo. He is a drummer and keyboard player for the God Band which plays twice a month at church events. He also takes dance classes at Camria Academy and is currently a student assistant in the tap classes.

Volunteering: Member of the High School Ministry.

Degerness plans to attend Concordia College in Moorhead, MN and will major in music education.

Sheyenne High School

Wyatt Warkenthien, a senior at West Fargo Sheyenne was named the West Fargo Exchange Club’s Student of the Month for October. Warkenthien's parents are Julie and Shawn Warkenthien.

4.19 GPA

Extracurricular activities: Sheyenne Track and Field, HOSA Future Health Professionals and NWC Wolves Mountain Bike Race Team. Photographer for both the Sheyenne Basketball and Football teams.

National Honor Society: Member

Warkenthien plans on attending the University of Minnesota Duluth with a major in biology. He hopes to eventually attend medical school to become an opthalmologist.
