West Fargo Superintendent Beth Slette sent a statement to parents after Governor Doug Burgum K-12 schools to close for one week in effort to slow spread of COVID-19.
The statement said:
"This closure is inclusive of all programs, meetings, trainings, rentals, practices, and contests. The Hulbert Aquatic Center and the West Fargo Sports Arena will also be closed from March 16-22. The YMCA will be operating their childcare programs at school sites.
The main offices at each school will be staffed until noon on Monday, March 16 if there is anything you need to pick-up for your child.
School administration will be discussing plans for the continuity of education and essential services during this closure. We will communicate all plans with you as soon as decisions have been finalized.
We will continue to monitor guidance from the ND Governor’s Office, the ND Department of Public Instruction, and the CDC to inform our decisions and to ensure we remain in compliance with what is best for the safety of our students and staff.
We know this has been a trying time for our district, community, state, and nation. Please know that we appreciate your patience and support as we have navigated these uncharted waters!"
