Sheyenne High School Student of the Year

Aryaman Sharma was named Sheyenne High School's Student of the Year.

Aryaman's parents are Puneet Sharma and Marisha Balhara.

4.8 GPA

He has won many awards and achievements throughout his high school career, such as the 2020 National Exemplary Student Service Award, Coke Scholar, Gold Presidential Volunteer Award, Prudential Spirit of Community Honoree, Academic All-American and AP Scholar.

Aryaman volunteers with Special Olympics as a youth representative, basketball and soccer coach.

He was also involved with Student Congress, debate, speech team, of which he was the team captain, two-time national qualifier and CSTAND All-State and served as Student Council treasurer and DECA president.

His plans after high school are to attend college and major in political science and economics. He is currently undecided on which school.

ACE Award, Sheyenne High School

Carsen Grave is Sheyenne's ACE Award winner.

Carsen’s parents are Shannon and Brian Grave.

3.84 GPA

Carsen was diagnosed with high-functioning autism as well as Type 1 diabetes, which he has not let bring him down. Carsen is very proud of his accomplishments and has proven that through his ACT score.

Carsen has a passion for liberal arts and loves history.

Just recently he was appointed to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act Advisory Committee for the State of North Dakota to represent individuals with disabilities across the state and help the state identify programs to help contribute to their success.

Carsen plans to attend University of North Dakota in the fall to major in history, with dreams of possibly becoming a museum curator or history professor.

West Fargo High School Student of the Year

Ryan Orth was named West Fargo High School's Student of the Year.

Ryan’s parents are Michelle and Adrian Orth.

4.23 GPA

His academic accomplishments include National Merit Finalist, U.S. Presidential Scholar Candidate, Academic All-State Bronze Team, AP Scholar with Honor and Academic Letter for four years.

He volunteered with the National Honor Society (chapter president) and Boy Scouts of America (Eagle Scout)

Ryan is involved with band and played the alto saxophone, which he lettered in fine arts three years, Regional Star rating three times and participated in the wind and jazz ensemble.

Ryan plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Honors Program to major in software engineering.

Community High School Student of the Year

Community High School's Student of the Year is Ivy Kidder.

Ivy serves in her local church each Sunday, providing child care for infants. She has also mentored and tutored at South Elementary in the Native American Education program as well as the West Fargo Transition Academy, assisting young special education adults in a variety of areas. Ivy has also volunteered in the West Fargo Adult Education program helping New Americans with learning English, reading, completing job applications and practicing conversational English.

Ivy recently graduated from Community High School and has been employed by the West Fargo Public Schools as a para-professional working with special education students in the Transition Academy.
