WEST FARGO — The West Fargo Fire Department responded to a chemical spill just before 2 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, at XPO Logistics, 1756 Second Ave. NW.
West Fargo Fire Chief Dan Fuller said the leaks came from a punctured semi-truck carrying MasterSet AC 122, a liquid admixture used to accelerate the time of setting and to increase the strength of concrete. The Fargo hazmat team was also called to assist with the containment.
The liquid admixture is an irritant to the eyes if exposed.
The containment team on-site used 20 bags of dry spill absorbent to prevent the leak from entering the storm sewer drains. After two hours, the leak was contained, and the West Fargo Fire Department left the scene at 4:20 a.m. No one was hurt during the leak or containment.
