WEST FARGO — Starting Wednesday, June 5, crews will begin concrete removals on the east side of Sheyenne Street between the East Beaton Drive and Interstate 94 interchange.
During the project work, the northbound Sheyenne Street dedicated left-turn, through lane and dedicated right-turn lane will be reduced to one lane for about two blocks. Southbound Sheyenne Street traffic control will remain the same, with three driving lanes open through the area. Access to East Beaton Drive from the temporary traffic signals at Sheyenne Street will remain open.
Works is anticipated to take two weeks, weather permitting. The lane reduction is needed to allow crews to remove the existing pavement and begin paving operations for the new Sheyenne Street driving lane.
Once traffic control is in place, motorists can expect the following:
Southbound: Three driving lanes open: dedicated right-turn, left-turn, and through lane.
Northbound: One driving lane open: shared left-turn/through/right-turn lane.
This week crews continue work on underground utilities, roadway and sidewalk paving, along with the construction of the new diversion bridge in this segment of the reconstruction project in Sheyenne Street Segment 2 reconstruction project limits.
The Segment 3 Sheyenne Street and 40th Avenue West intersection work is on schedule to reopen to east – west and southbound Sheyenne Street traffic Saturday, June 15. The protected pedestrian crossing is open on the south side of the intersection.
