WEST FARGO — A major milestone for the Sheyenne Street Segment Three project will be achieved when crews open the 40th Avenue West and Sheyenne Street intersection to motorists at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 15.
Sheyenne Street at the 40th Avenue West intersection has been widened to accommodate additional driving lanes and pedestrian connectivity through the intersection. Upon project completion, there will be double left-turn lanes for southbound Sheyenne Street to eastbound 40th Avenue West traffic flow. The underground facilities through the intersection were converted from rural drainage and upgraded to the citywide storm sewer system.

Northbound Sheyenne Street travel from 40th Avenue West will be closed.
Motorists will be able to use 52nd Avenue South to Veterans Boulevard until the next phase of reconstruction work begins Thursday, June 20, on Fargo’s 52nd Avenue South improvement project.
The week of June 24, additional driving lanes through the 32nd Avenue West and Sheyenne Street intersection will reopen to drivers after median work is complete.
With the opening of 40th Avenue West, the next phase of the 52nd Avenue South project will push west, and work will begin on Veterans Boulevard and 63rd Street South intersections. 52nd Avenue will be closed to through traffic at 63rd Street South, with local access maintained through Veterans Boulevard to business and residential areas.
The Segment Three project is expected to be complete in October.
