FARGO — Nineteenth Avenue North has been re-opened to traffic from Dakota Drive North to 18th Street North, the city announced Tuesday morning, Jan. 16.

The stretch of road had been closed since Monday morning because blowing snow was reducing visibility.

This section of 19th near Hector International Airport is more or less in open country and was also closed on Jan. 11. On that day, several cars could be seen stuck in snowdrifts.

In a 1984 blizzard, four trapped motorists died on this Fargo road.
