FARGO – Five people involved with a Moorhead assault and armed home invasion with a stolen firearm this week were the focus of law enforcement agencies from Moorhead and Fargo, and three have been arrested so far.
Two of the five are not yet in custody and still being sought, while the other three were arrested Friday morning, March 30, according to a news release from the Moorhead Police Department.
The release said 31-year-old Aaron Thompson Jr., 30-year-old Joseph Thompson and 25-year-old Sherae Robertson were being held Friday in Clay or Cass county jails on probable cause of aggravated robbery, first-degree burglary and second-degree assault. All those charges are felonies.
One of the apprehended suspects was arrested during an unrelated incident at 7 a.m Friday. About three hours later, Fargo Police officers briefly drew their guns on another suspect during a traffic stop at 813 1st St. N. in Fargo.
Fargo Police Sgt. Mike Bernier said the stop was related to a street crimes investigation into an earlier incident in Moorhead. More than six marked and unmarked police vehicles had a white sedan surrounded at that stop, and the vehicle was occupied by one male and one female.
During that apprehension, the firearm used in the Moorhead robbery was located and found to be stolen, police said.
The home invasion, police said, happened at 5 a.m. Wednesday, March 28. The suspects were armed with multiple weapons when they targeted a Moorhead home of someone they knew.
Police are still looking for 28-year-old Kristin Barido and 41-year-old Homer Wallace Winans III.
Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Barido or Winans are asked to contact the Red River Regional Dispatch Center at 701-451-7660.
