West Fargo man jailed after allegations he abused girl for almost 6 years
WEST FARGO — A 52-year-old West Fargo man accused of sexually abusing a minor for nearly six years has been arrested and is now in the Cass County Jail.
Valentin Jose Valenzuela was charged Friday, Oct. 5, in Cass County District Court with one count of continuous sexual abuse of a minor, a Class AA felony.
Valenzuela was subsequently taken into custody on an arrest warrant later on Friday, and he made a court appearance on the charge Monday, Oct. 8. His bail was set at $500,000.
Court documents accuse him of sexual abuse of a minor under the age of 15.
The victim told police Valenzuela sexually abused her for several years, beginning in about 2012, court records show.
A message left for Valenzuela’s attorney, Monty Mertz, was not immediately returned Tuesday, Oct. 9. Valenzuela’s next court hearing is set for Nov. 13.
