Fargo man accused of trying to sexually assault worker at supportive living facility
FARGO — A 19-year-old Fargo man is accused of attempting to sexually assault an employee at a supportive living facility.
James T. Ireland is charged with felony counts of attempted gross sexual imposition, aggravated assault and interference with a telephone during an emergency call, according to Cass County District Court documents.
On Saturday, March 9, police officers were sent to the supportive living facility in Fargo. Ireland was coming downstairs to get his laundry, when police talked to him, court documents stated.
Ireland told police he tried to sexually assault the victim, attempted to remove parts of her clothing and threw her phone in the trash when she tried to get it, court documents stated. Ireland told police he stopped the attack at one point.
Ireland was arrested and booked into Cass County Jail. He's also charged with misdemeanor simple assault in relation to an altercation in the jail on Sunday, March 10. He remained in custody there on Tuesday in lieu of $50,000 bail.
