Letter: Maxwell will not be forgot
It was with much sadness that I learned of the passing of West Fargo native and Broadway star Jan Maxwell.
Jan was extraordinarily kind when we were in high school. One particular incident stands out:
She earned the role as Calamity Jane in the play "Deadwood Dick." I scored a much lesser role as the drunken leader of the lynch mob in that play. Even though I was a relative nobody and rock bottom academically of the nerd class (nerds are generally regarded as the top 10 percent academically), she treated everyone in that play like co-stars. We were all in the same after play parties and she was the life of them all.
West Fargo and Broadway should never forget her.
