MOORHEAD — Andy Gravdahl's breakout year on the diamond didn't go unnoticed by the MIAC.

The 2018 West Fargo graduate and current Concordia College outfielder was named the conference's freshman of the year, the MIAC announced on May 14.

Gravdahl had a team-best batting average of .311 this spring, a mark that was boosted by a .348 average against conference opponents. He is the first Cobber to win the award.

Gravdahl is also a quarterback on the Concordia football team. He was the Gatorade North Dakota Football Player of the Year in 2017, after leading West Fargo to an unbeaten season and a Class 3A state championship.
