Packers girls basketball wins East Region play-in game

The West Fargo girls basketball team took care of business when it needed to and is now moving on in the postseason.

The No. 8-seeded Packers defeated No. 9-seeded Wahpeton 69-60 on Saturday, Feb. 24, at West Fargo High School in an East Region tournament play-in game to advance to the quarterfinals.

Abby Donarski led the Packers with a game-high 20 points and team-high six rebounds. McKenna Becher finished with 16 points for the Packers (8-14).

Jordyn Kahler and Rhaeghn Gripentrog both scored 19 points for the Huskies (5-17).

West Fargo moved on to play at top-seeded Fargo Davies (18-2) on Tuesday, Feb. 27, in the East Region quarterfinals. The Packers will then play another game in the tournament on Friday, March 2, at the Scheels Center.
