VALLEY CITY — West Fargo teams showed their youth in the opening match of the Eastern Dakota Conference girls golf season on Friday.
Sheyenne, which lost all but one regular contributor from 2018, placed seventh with a score of 410, while an inexperienced West Fargo team took ninth with 451 in invitational play in Valley City Friday.
Fargo Shanley took first with a score of 345, 16 better than Red River. Tonya Berg of Fargo North medaled with a score of 78.
Sheyenne's Lexi Bartley and West Fargo's Anna Wohl were the only players to shoot under 100. Bartley shot a 95 with Wohl shooting a 98.
Gracie Voeller (104), Cecile Fontijn (105) and Emma Wieber (106) completed the scoring for the Mustangs. The Packers got scoring from Tori Worner (106), Abbey Schumacher (117) and Ashley Johnson (130).
