We're looking to build our numbers and build on the team from last year. We're just looking on bridging the numbers coming from the middle school. We have a really good base of wrestlers that in tournaments we're going to be doing a lot better than what we can show on paper."

Coach's comments: "If we could fill up a roster we could be in the middle of the pack statewide. Last year I think we only had seven kids on the team and we finished 14th in the state, so we wrestled pretty hard and did pretty well. Most of those kids are returning, and we have a few more kids this year, so hopefully we can probably finish in the middle of the pack if we keep working hard."

Coach's comments: "We've had some injuries and guys who decided they don't want to wrestle, so obviously that changes a lot of things. Coming into [the season] we may have had higher expectations I guess, but I still expect us to compete and do our best. I would say we're in the top-three (of the EDC). It's going to be a dogfight."
West Fargo Sheyenne

Last season: Ninth in Eastern Dakota Conference
Who's gone: Chase DeBlaere and Hunter Hermanson.
Key returners: Kellen Hoornaert, Fr.; Shane Kennedy, Jr.; Dawson Weiss, Jr.; Thomas Cullen, Sr.
Coach's comments: "We'll have a full roster for the first time. That’s exciting for us. In the past couple years we’d go into every match giving up 30-36 points. It’s nice having guys fill those weights, so we don’t have to just have somebody go out there and get their hand raised. They have to earn it now.”
