WEST FARGO — Following an opening game that didn't seem to want to end, Mother Nature halted the second game of a Legion doubleheader between Fargo Post 400 and West Fargo before it started.

In an opening game that featured five game-extending, two-out errors in the seventh inning, Kain Carlson delivered the winning hit, as his go-ahead RBI single lifted Post 400 to an 8-6, nine-inning win.

Carlson's first at-bat also produced an RBI, as Fargo put up four runs on four hits in the first inning.

West Fargo battled back to take a 5-4 lead with a five-run sixth inning, which was capped by a Lance Oster RBI double. But the Patriots were ultimately done in by seven errors, two of which came in the seventh inning, which allowed Fargo to take a 6-5 lead on an RBI single by Andy Mach.

Following a 30-minute delay, the second game was called off as a severe thunderstorm blew into the area.
