HOPKINS, Minn. — The West Fargo Post 308 Patriots breezed past Pierre Post 8 11-3, then took care of Duluth Lakeview 6-2 Friday night at the Gopher Classic American Legion baseball tournament at Big Willow Park.
The Patriots got off to a hot start in the first game, scoring eight runs in the first inning and never looking back. Ryan Reynolds had two hits and two RBIs to pace West Fargo, while Brayden Jacobson totaled three RBIs with Carter Dodd adding another two.
Post 308 trailed 2-0 throughout the second game, before putting together a five-run fifth inning to secure the win. Alex Urlaub registered a hit and two RBIs, while Quade Peters and Reynolds each brought in another run.
West Fargo (16-12) moves to 2-0 in pool play and will face Elk River at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
