MINNEAPOLIS — The West Fargo Patriots American Legion baseball team picked up two wins at the Gopher Classic on Monday, defeating Woodbury Blue 3-0 and Manitoba 4-3 to advance to the tournament semifinals.

In Game 1, Ryan Froemke threw a complete-game shutout, surrendering only three hits with five strikeouts. Brayden Jacobson paced the Patriots at the plate, tallying two of the team's three hits and driving in all three of the team's runs.

Cooper Borchardt had a walk-off run-scoring hit to spark West Fargo to victory against Manitoba. Jacobson again paced the Patriots offense with two RBIs. Borchardt and Quade Peters each knocked in one run.

West Fargo (20-13) plays Wayzata Post 118 at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in the semifinals.
