Packers get back on track, wallop Spartans
After a sluggish end to 2018, the West Fargo boys basketball team rediscovered its formula for success in a dominant 82-61 win over Fargo North Friday.
Four Packer players scored in double figures, and Carson Hegerle came one point shy of giving them a fifth. Matt Miller finished with 19 points, while Braxton Bruer added 16 to go along with 11 rebounds, five assists and four steals.
Hunter Lyman contributed 14 points in just 14 minutes off the bench and Luke Lennon had a 10-point, 14-rebound double-double. As they have during most of their wins, the Packers dominated the glass, finishing with a 52-27 rebounding edge to snap a two-game losing streak.
Now 5-2, West Fargo faces its toughest test of the season so far on Thursday, when it travels to face unbeaten Fargo Davies, the top-ranked team in Class A, at 7:30 p.m.
The Packers are also on the road Saturday, where they will face Grand Forks Central at 3:15 p.m.
