GRAND FORKS — Ben Hoverson’s 38 points led Grand Forks Central to an upset win over Davies in Eastern Dakota Conference boys basketball on Saturday.

Hoverson hit a game-high nine 3-pointers while getting help from Mason Gravseth’s 14 points to lead Central.

Cole Hage registered a double-double with 29 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Eagles. Cameron Van Dam chipped in 16 points, six rebounds and four assists.

Davies dropped its first game of the season, falling to 8-1 overall and 7-1 in the EDC. GFC moved to 4-5 overall and 3-4 in the EDC.

Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton 84, Badger-Greenbush-Middle River 58

GREENBUSH, Minn. — The Rebels breezed by the Gators to push their winning streak to six games.

D-G-F rose to 9-3 overall and B-G-MR fell to 8-4.

Minneapolis Patrick Henry 80, Moorhead 78

MINNEAPOLIS — Patrick Henry edged the Spuds to keep its winning streak alive.

Drew Hagen’s 29 points paced Moorhead, while Brady Walthall (12 points) and Quentin Hegg (10) added double-digit points.

Mark Campbell tallied 15 points to pace Patrick Henry.

Moorhead fell to 8-5 overall. Patrick Henry (8-3) pushed its winning streak to four games.

Fargo North 57, Fargo South 55

FARGO — The Spartans came away with a narrow win over crosstown foe South in EDC play.

Jacob Brosius made a putback off an offensive rebound at the buzzer to give North the win. Cayden Rickard paced the Spartans (3-5, 3-4 EDC) with 16 points. Carson Critchley added 10 points.

Kevin Hardy tallied 13 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Bruins (1-7, 1-6).

Fergus Falls Hillcrest 74, Moorhead Park Christian 59

FERGUS FALLS — Hillcrest erased a 13-point halftime deficit to earn a comeback win over the Falcons.

Thomas Zwiers posted 28 points to lead the Comets (3-5).

Tanner Brunsberg and Jonah Williams contributed 23 and 19 points, respectively, for Park Christian (4-8). Ethan Jorgenson added eight points and six rebounds.


Moorhead 65, Tartan 39

MOORHEAD — Sam Zimmerman and Rylie Polomny led the Spuds past Tartan in Minnesota girls basketball Saturday.

Zimmerman totaled 16 points and eight rebounds, while Polomny added 16 points and four assists. Megan Haugo chipped in 11 points, seven rebounds, seven steals and five assists.

Makayle Harris’ 14 points paced the Titans (1-11).

Moorhead rose to 8-4 overall.

Fargo North 66, Fargo South 58

FARGO — The Spartans captured their first win of the season, taking down South in EDC action.

North (1-7, 1-6 EDC) was led by Jennie Sem’s 22 points and 17 rebounds. Grace Miller added another double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds, while Alex Egge totaled 16 points.

Adie Wagner’s 19 points paced the Bruins, while Raechel Osborn added 12 points.

South fell to 2-6 overall and 2-5 in the EDC. North moved to 1-7 overall and 1-6 in the EDC.

Moorhead Park Christian 54, Fergus Falls Hillcrest 33

FERGUS FALLS, Minn. — Karley Motschenbacher scored half her team’s points to lift the Falcons to victory over Hillcrest.

Motschenbacher contributed across the board, finishing with 27 points, 13 rebounds, three assists and three steals. Eden Tofibam added seven points for Park Christian (13-1), which holds a 13-game winning streak.

Anna Rasmussen scored 16 points to lead Hillcrest (0-9).

Fargo Davies 70, Grand Forks Central 39

FARGO — Davies continued with its strong start to the season, defeating Central in EDC play.

Ryleigh Wacha scored 19 points to lead the Eagles (6-3, 6-2 EDC), while Taylor Fey added 17.

Haley Gereau and Ashley Gereau posted 11 and seven points, respectively, to lead Central (1-7, 1-6).
