Manson rallies, tied for lead after day one of state
JAMESTOWN — A late, day-one surge put Maggie Manson in driver’s seat in her quest to claim the Class A girls golf state championship.
The West Fargo Sheyenne senior made a furious rally Monday, sinking birdies on both the 17th and 18th holes to pull into a three-way tie during opening round play.
After getting just one birdie on the first 16 holes, Manson made up two strokes on Century’s Hannah Harbel over the final two, finishing the day with a nine-over par 79. Minot’s Becca Tschetter also birdied 18 to pull even with Manson and Harbel.
