Moorhead 4, St. Cloud 3 (OT)

MOORHEAD — Caden Triggs netted two goals, including the game-winner 47 seconds into overtime, to lead the Spuds to a Minnesota boys hockey victory over St. Cloud on Saturday at Moorhead Sports Center.

Triggs scored his first goal in the opening period. Max Dronen scored for the Spuds (13-3-1) in the second period and Carter Johnson found the back of the net in the third.

Blake Keller cut it to 3-2 at the 9 minutes, 19 seconds mark of the third period for St. Cloud (6-6-1). August Falloon then netted the equalizer on a power play just under two minutes later.

Fargo South-Shanley 2, Fargo North 2 (OT)

FARGO — South-Shanley and North skated to a tie in Eastern Dakota Conference boys hockey Saturday at the Coliseum.

Caleb Fritel and Michael Hallquist each scored a goal for North (6-5-1). Zach Boren and Drew Sandy each found the back of the net for South-Shanley (7-3-1). Sandy’s goal knotted the game 2-2 in the second period.

Grand Forks Central 6, West Fargo Sheyenne 0

WEST FARGO — The Knights cruised past Sheyenne at West Fargo Sports Arena for their 10th straight win.

Joey Kennelly scored two goals to pace GFC (11-1, 8-0). Dominic Gerszewski, Chase Spicer, William Lawson-Body and Braden Panzer each added a goal.

Goalie Tyler Swanson tallied 32 saves for the Mustangs (1-11, 0-8).

Fargo Davies 7, Minot 1

MINOT, N.D. — Davies scored four goals in the first period as the Eagles soared to a road win over Minot.

Austin Schmidt scored once in the first period and again in the second to lead the Eagles (8-3). Isaac Balvitsch, Easton Rerick and Jaiden Yaeger each added a goal in the opening frame. Connter Turnquist and Gavin Balvitsch each netted a goal in the second period.

Eagles goalie Trent Wiemken tallied 13 saves.

Jack Plemel scored the lone goal for the Magicians (8-4).

West Fargo 8, Devils Lake 2

DEVILS LAKE, N.D. — The Packers took down Devils Lake in EDC play.

Jackson Prochnow scored twice for West Fargo. Brayden Jacobson, Dalton Bossert, Colten Bossert, Noah Diemer, Alex Sauter and Seth Nyhof also tallied for the visitors.

Jace Thomas and Aaron Johnson tallied for Devils Lake.

West Fargo moved to 10-3 overall and 5-3 in the EDC. The Firebirds stumbled to 1-10 overall and 1-7 in the EDC.

GIRLS

Fargo North-South 4, Minot 1

FARGO — Rylee Bartz scored two goals to lead North-South to victory over Minot in North Dakota girls hockey at the Coliseum.

Chloe Bry scored for North-South in the opening period. Bartz netted each of her goals in the second frame, while Bella Ensrud added an insurance goal in the third period to cap the scoring for North-South (10-1-1).

Abby Tallman scored in the second period for Minot (4-4-1).

Fargo Davies 7, Mandan 0

MANDAN, N.D. — Davies cruised past Mandan at Starion Sports Complex.

The Eagles (9-0-2) outshot Mandan 43-27 and led 6-0 by the end of the second period. Morgan Sauvageau and Faith Morris each scored two goals, while Paige Hanson, Kaia Johnson and Olivia Opheim netted the remaining goals.

Mandan fell to 5-7 overall.

West Fargo United 2, Williston 0

WEST FARGO — West Fargo United scored two goals in the second period to down Williston at West Fargo Sports Arena.

United (5-9) found itself in control for most of the game, outshooting Williston 38-13. Morgan Bents scored unassisted, while Payton Hareland and Jocelyn Hareland assisted Madison Schoenberg’s power-play goal to put away Williston (0-11-1).

Minneapolis 4, Moorhead 1

ST. PAUL — A trio of third-period goals gave Minneapolis a win over Moorhead Saturday afternoon.

The two sides traded goals in the second period, with Grace Davis striking first for the Spuds (6-10-1). The Novas (9-9-2) ripped off four unanswered goals to seal the win.
