West Fargo 3, Valley City 1

DEVILS LAKE, N.D. — West Fargo topped Valley City on Saturday to claim the East Region softball championship.

Tori Nichols-Kraft hit a three-run home run to lead the Packers.

West Fargo will be the East No. 1 seed for the North Dakota Class A state tournament and will face West No. 4 Minot at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Minot South Hill Softball Complex.

Valley City will be the East No. 2 seed and will play West No. 3 Dickinson in the opening round at 11 a.m.

Fargo Shanley 4, Fargo Davies 3

VALLEY CITY, N.D. — Shanley edged Davies with a walk-off win Saturday morning to advance to a state-qualifier game.

The game was tied 3-3 in the bottom of the seventh inning Friday night, prior to being suspended due to weather.

The Deacons advanced to play West Fargo Sheyenne in a state-qualifier game. The Eagles ended their season with a 5-15 overall record.

West Fargo Sheyenne 15, Fargo Shanley 6

VALLEY CITY, N.D. — Sheyenne rolled past Shanley to secure a spot in the state tournament.

Sheyenne trailed 6-2 entering the bottom of the fifth, but proceeded to score 10 runs that inning and three more in the bottom of the sixth to put the game out of reach.

The East No. 3 seed, the Mustangs are slated to play West No. 2 seed Bismarck Century at 4 p.m. Thursday in the state quarterfinals.

Shanley finished the season with a 9-10 overall record.

Fargo North 11, Grand Forks Red River 0 (5 innings)

VALLEY CITY, N.D. — North cruised past Red River in five innings to advance to the state tournament.

Sophia Cody crushed a three-run home run to left field in the bottom of the fifth inning to send the Spartans to state.

North will be the East No. 4 seed and will face the top West seed Bismarck at 4 p.m. Thursday in the state quarterfinals.

Red River finished the season with a 7-12 overall record.
