FARGO — Weather permitting, on Tuesday Sept. 25, crews anticipate to open north to south travel through the 45th Street North and 19th Avenue North intersection and access to Interstate 29 from 19th Avenue North as a two-way stop in the afternoon.
The professional comedy series at a West Fargo bar continues Friday, Oct. 12, at Bar Nine, 1405 Prairie Parkway, with Josh Alton and Earl Elliot. After playing his final collegiate football game, Alton hung up his cleats and helmet and donned a notebook and mic to try his hand at stand-up comedy, eventually becoming a regular performer at several Chicago comedy clubs. Opening for Alton is Elliot, a Columbia, Md., native whose routine focuses on finding the rainbows within the precipitation of human behavior while toting his black cloud of doubt, according to a news release.
FARGO — A 44-year-old suspect in a fatal shooting outside of a McDonald’s in Fargo was arrested by authorities in southern Minnesota on Monday, Sept. 24. Miguel Jay Cooley Sr., of Moorhead, was arrested at 7:40 p.m. Monday at a home west of Rochester in Mower County by the Austin Police Department SWAT team, according to a news release from Fargo police.

The trial of William Hoehn on a charge of conspiracy to commit murder in the death of Savanna LaFontaine-Greywind is to resume Monday, Sept. 24, in Cass County District Court. Prosecutors say witnesses expected to be called this week include Hoehn’s former girlfriend and co-defendant, Brooke Crews. Crews is expected to take the stand no sooner than Tuesday.
DEVILS LAKE, N.D. — The name was released in a fatal crash that occurred at 3:15 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 21. The victim,. initially reported as a 49-year-old man, was actually 59-year-old Gary Oram of Devils Lake. He died after his truck that was transporting cattle in a trailer crashed on State Highway 20 about three miles south of Devils Lake, N.D. He was traveling north in his 2018 Chevrolet Silverado when he veered off the right edge of the roadway. Oram was transported to St. Alexius Hospital in Devils Lakes where he later died.
FARGO—Carpet World of Fargo will celebrate 50 years in business with customer appreciation days Sept. 28-29 at its showroom, 4601 17th Ave. S. According to a Carpet World press release, the business was Fargo's first carpet retailer when Jerry Kautzman opened the store in the fall of 1968. A decade later, additional flooring lines such as wood, tile and laminate were added.

A story published Wednesday, Sept. 19, (“West Fargo high-rise demolition on track; new public housing complex planned,” A1) was not clear on which part of the high-rise complex will be demolished. The high-rise complex includes both high-rise and low-rise buildings. Housing officials will demolish the low-rise part of the complex in the spring.
