CAVALIER, N.D. — A truck driving down Main Street is probably the loudest thing you'll ever hear in Cavalier, a northeast North Dakota town of around 1,300 people. But that's exactly what's drawing people in.
DEVILS LAKE, N.D.—Crews have been working around the clock to clean up a diesel fuel spill that leaked hundreds of gallons into Devils Lake in just minutes. A representative from the Army National Guard says a fuel dispensing pump malfunctioned Tuesday morning, May 16, at Camp Grafton, leaking nearly 500 gallons of fuel into storm drains. The spill lasted for about 12 minutes before an employee was able stop it using an emergency shut-off.
CROOKSTON TOWNSHIP, Minn.—People in one area township say they want their money back after accusing a former maintenance worker of clocking extra hours. Crookston Township has been embattled in recent years over issues surrounding a tenured employee. A forensic investigation has revealed the man allegedly took more than $25,000 in pay. One member of the township's board says they looked at road maintenance costs from nearby areas and discovered a discrepancy.
