WAHPETON, N.D. -- North Dakota State College of Science is reporting steady enrollment numbers for this fall. The total enrollment is 2,957 students, including those on the Wahpeton and Fargo campuses as well as online and early entry students. For the second straight year, NDSCS’ enrollment has declined less than 1 percent. In 2017, the fall enrollment was 2,985 students. In 2016, the fall enrollment was 3,003 students. “We don’t want to see any decline,” said John Richman, NDSCS president. “We need more students in all of our program areas.”

WAHPETON, N.D. - The Mildred Johnson Library on the North Dakota State College of Science campus in Wahpeton has stopped checking out books to the public, only students and faculty. Library patrons can read the books and newspapers and use the free wifi, Chief Information Officer Cloy Tobola said, however, they can no longer check out books. “The public can come in and read anything they like,” Tobola said.
Ryan Moody, 43, Burnsville, Minnesota, was transported by Sanford AirMed to Sanford Health in Fargo after receiving serious injuries following an industrial accident at Dakota Yeast LLC in Wahpeton Thursday morning. At approximately 9:32 a.m. Thursday, April 19, Moody was unloading hydrous ammonia from his semi truck. “As he took a safety cap off a coupler, it sprayed,” explained Wade Griffin of the Dwight Rural Fire Department. “Pressure from the coupler sprayed him.”
A West Fargo woman was arrested early Wednesday, April 18 for having actual physical control of a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Kassandra Rose Rice, 30, suffered minor injuries when the vehicle she was driving went off I-29 and into a ditch. The accident occurred at approximately 4:30 a.m. and was responded to by the Richland County Sheriff’s Office and Ambulance Service.
