Lowes to host free building clinic

A free building clinic is planned in preparation for National Women Build Week with Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity and Lowes.

In the days leading up to Mother's Day, construction crews of female volunteers will be pounding nails and raising walls at Habitat for Humanity construction sites across the country in recognition of National Women Build Week, April 30 - May 8.

To help volunteers get a jump-start on their building skills, Lowes, underwriter of Women Build and sponsor of National Women Build Week, is hosting a "how-to" clinic April 30 from 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m., at its Fargo store (5001 13th Ave. SW in Fargo).

Those in attendance will learn about tool safety, roof shingling and siding installation. Reservations are encouraged by calling 218-284-5253 ext. 2, but not mandatory.

This event is free and open to the public, and families are welcome to attend.
