United Blood Services seeking donations due to low supply

FARGO — United Blood Services of the Dakotas is urging area residents to donate blood because the organization often sees a 40 percent drop in donations during the holiday season.

Donations decline this time of year while the need for blood increases due to more travel and traumatic injuries.

United Blood Services tries to keep a five-day supply of every blood type in stock at all times.

Blood donation takes about an hour from check-in to completion. For more information or to make a donation appointment, visit www.bloodhero.com or call (877)827-4376.
