19-year-old West Fargo man arrested in reported knife attack

FARGO - A 19-year-old West Fargo man was arrested in Fargo this morning, suspected of attacking another man with a knife.

Police arrested Andrew Kenneth Samdahl shortly before 3 a.m. on suspicion of aggravated assault after officers responded at 2 a.m. to an assault report in a residence in the 4300 block of Ninth Avenue Circle, said Lt. Pat Claus.

Samdahl is suspected of cutting a 24-year-old man in the neck with a knife and stabbing him in the back, Claus said.

Claus said Samdahl and a second man he was with had known the victim for a short time. He said police are not commenting on why they came to the home or the potential motive for the alleged assault.
