Several local students were among 450 students receiving degrees at Minnesota State University Moorhead's winter graduation ceremony on Friday, Dec. 18, in Alex Nemzek Fieldhouse.
Commencement speaker was Tammy Miller, CEO of Border States Electric. Miller has a bachelor of science in accounting and an MBA from MSU Moorhead, and has received two distinguished alumni awards from her alma mater. Miller is leading MSUM's Major Gift Initiative to fund scholarships and the university's new wellness center.

Alison Edwards and Giuliana Varriano of West Fargo are among 267 students named to the Dean's List for the 2009 fall semester at Jamestown College. The Dean's List includes all full-time students who, during any given semester, earn a grade point average of 3.50 or better on a minimum of 12 semester credits.
Two West Fargo students are among 403 individuals named to the Academic Dean's List for the fall 2009 semester at Northwestern College, Orange City, Iowa. They include Nathan Kuik, a sophomore, majoring in social work, and Meagan McDougall, a freshman, majoring in public relations.
Lacey Henningsen of West Fargo, was among 587 students named to the dean's list for fall semester 2009 at Black Hills State University, Spearfish, S.D. Students must maintain a grade point average of 3.5 or above while taking at least 12 credit hours to be named to the dean's list.
