Bell State Bank & Trust open on Veterans Boulevard
Bell State Bank & Trust opened a new location Monday, June 3, at 5680 23rd Ave. S. in the Veterans Boulevard area serving Fargo and West Fargo. Located in the new "Stop-N-Go" plaza, near the intersection of I-94 and Veterans Boulevard, the 3,500-square-foot bank is adjacent to what will be the new Sanford hospital, hotels and other businesses.
The bank includes drive-up services as well as transaction and office space for bankers, a mortgage lender and an investments representative. Anchoring the interior is a fireplace faced with North Dakota "legacy" stone hand-picked by the late Mickey Snortland, a major Bell State Bank & Trust shareholder who passed away in January 2013.
Brenda Messerschmidt is serving as vice president/branch manager of the location. She has been with Bell State Bank & Trust since 2003 and previously served as branch manager for the bank's South University Drive location in Fargo.
Mavis Larson has been named a personal banking officer at the location. Larson will retain and expand existing personal deposits and loan relationships with customers.
"We are very pleased to be a part of the economic boom in the Veterans Boulevard neighborhood," said Michael Solberg, Bell State Bank & Trust president. "With the addition of Sanford and many other businesses, that area has become a crossroads for people in a large geographic area, and we are excited to be a part of that growth and commerce."
In her position, Messerschmidt will develop and manage the branch to provide a superior level of customer service, by directing and monitoring performance, coaching and motivating personnel, as well as promoting company values and culture to ensure customer and employee satisfaction.
Originally from Mountain, N.D., Messerschmidt has been in the banking field for 28 years. She started her career at Citizens State Bank in Neche, N.D.
Messerschmidt lives in Fargo with her husband, Rock.
Originally from Barnesville, Larson has 45 years of banking experience. Larson joined Bell State Bank & Trust in 1999 and previously served as a personal banking officer at the 2501 S. Univ. Dr.
She lives in Fargo.
A grand opening celebration week is being planned for later in June at the new Veterans Boulevard location.
Founded in 1966, Bell State Bank & Trust, formerly State Bank & Trust, is the largest independently owned bank in North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota with 19 banking locations and more than $2.6 billion in assets.
