Bill E. Archer, 70, of Story, Wyo., passed away on Monday, November 26, 2007 at the historical Fort Mackenzie VA Medical Center in Sheridan, Wyo.
Bill was born to Lloyd and Elsie (Walker) Archer on July 31, 1937 in Sheridan. He attended school in Story and Sheridan, Wyo., and went on to graduate from the University of Minnesota. He served in the U.S. Armed Forces during the Korean Conflict, and married Constance Schaefer in Sheridan on July 6, 1962. They raised four children together.
Bill and Connie returned to live in his beloved Big Horn Mountains in 1995. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing his mandolin and guitar, and especially, spending time with his family.
Surviving Bill are his wife, Connie Archer; son John Archer of Rice Lake, Wis.; three daughters, Jacqueline Lowry of Clear Lake, Iowa, Michelle (Jon) Engum of Detroit Lakes and Geraldine (Dave) Larson of River Falls, Wis.; five grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Terry of Gillete, Wyo.; and brother, Floyd Archer of Belvidere, Tenn.
Preceding Bill in death were his parents, Lloyd and Elsie Archer; and brothers, Cliff and Bud Archer.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30 at the Story Woman's Club in Story, Wyo., with the Rev. Tom Ogg officiating. Kane Funeral Home of Sheridan, Wyo., is handling arrangements for the family.
The family has requested that memorials be made in Bill's name to the Story Woman's Club or the Story Centennial Museum.
