Human remains found at Clay County farmstead; two people detained

Brian D. Neugebauer, 62, West Fargo, ND died on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014 at his home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley and his loving family.

Brian Daniel Neugebauer was born Sept. 29, 1951 in Fargo, ND to Halbert and Clara (Titze) Neugebauer. He graduated from Fargo South High School, Concordia College and received his law degree from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. After law school, he served as clerk for Chief Justice Ralph Erickstad with the ND Supreme Court. Brian married Kathy Klippen on June 24, 1978 at Ft. Snelling in Minneapolis, MN. They made their home in West Fargo. He worked for Ohnstad Twichell Law Firm for many years and was currently serving as president. He was the West Fargo City Attorney and also did municipal bond work for many cities in ND and MN.

Brian was active in the West Fargo community. He enjoyed reading, golfing, swimming, the arts and fine dining. He also enjoyed traveling across the US and Europe with Kathy. He was active in sports, playing basketball (his South High Team made it to the state championship game), baseball (his American Legion Team made it to the national tournament), and racquetball as a young man and golf throughout his life. Brians humor, sharp wit and intelligence will be sorely missed.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy; three sons, Karl (Brittany) with granddaughter, Mia, Mark, both Fargo, and John of West Fargo; mother, Clara Neugebauer, West Fargo; brothers, Roger (Bonnie) and Robert (Linda) both Seattle, WA; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Hal.

His family requests memorials to FM Symphony, FM Opera or Hospice of the RRV.

Visitation: Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014 from 5 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at West Funeral Home, West Fargo.

Memorial Service: Thursday at 11 AM at Lutheran Church of Cross, West Fargo.
