Caroline was born Aug. 28, 2002, at Innovis Health in Fargo. She attended Kindergarten at the West Fargo Early Childhood Center, where she loved library time, music group, art and gym. She loved her classmates and her teachers. She also participated in conductive education through the PL+US center in Burnsville, Minn., for two years. She loved the therapy that she received from Susan Landa and Dani Helgeson at Alliance Therapy, and Brian Borchardt of Pediatric Therapy Partners. She attended Magic Mobility Camp and Rollerwheeling run by HOPE, Inc. and loved every minute of it.

Caroline was known for her love of ducks and her massive duck collection numbering nearly 400. She always had her bathtub full of rubber ducks and she snuggled with her stuffed ducks whenever possible. She was known for her beautiful smile and infectious laugh. Her nickname was Super C because of her determination, courage, and can-do spirit. She loved being in water and swimming was always a joyous experience for her. She loved French fries, Smarties, mashed potatoes, cucumbers and black olives. Caroline was always ready for a party and being with her friends and family. She loved to listen to music and to play music, especially maracas. She was obsessed with reading books and could never be read to enough. She loved being outside in the sunshine, going for walks, riding in her wheelchair, swinging in her swing and playing in the grass. She loved car rides, going shopping at the mall, going to the movies and eating tons of popcorn and being the center of attention. Caroline loved her friends, especially her Prince Drew, Emma, Gabe, Kylie, Zoey, Maren, Aeryn, Grant, Peighton, Garrett and Mrs. Toenis's 5th grade class in Hillsboro. She looked forward to being with her caregivers and nurses everyday and will forever be grateful for the tender, loving care given unfailingly by Mindy Donovan, Erin Kuehl, Shannon Laney, Carrie Wright, Elizabeth Mehus-Waller, Melissa Fleck, Kim Thompson, Krista Fredrickson, and Sam Thompson. She looked up to her big brothers, Andrew and Ben, and always enjoyed playing with them. Her little sister Danielle was her best friend.

Caroline was honored to be chosen as the 2006 Shrine Bowl Princess. She received many services through the Shriner's and was so very grateful for the opportunity to be their princess. She was granted a wish through Make-A-Wish in June of 2007 to go to Walt Disney World in Florida, where she got to meet Donald Duck, spin in the Tea Cups, feed a dolphin, stay at the Give Kids the World Village, eat all the ice cream that she could possibly want, to celebrate Christmas in June, and even got to spend a day at the beach digging in the sand and splashing in the ocean. Make-A-Wish then chose a picture of Caroline to be the cover of one of their cards. Team Super C won the Spirit Award for the Stroll for Epilepsy in August 2007. In September 2007, the Rochester Area Family YMCA named their new duck slide after Caroline, christening it the Super C slide.

Caroline is survived by her mom and dad, her big brothers Andrew and Benjamin, her little sister Danielle and her puppy Molly Belle.
