Choice Financial employees run for a cure

For Choice Financial employees, the color pink recently took on a whole new meaning - one of hope.

As part of their monthly Random Acts of Kindness program, employees of Choice purchased pink T-shirts with a 'run for a cure' logo to help raise money for the Roger Maris Cancer Center in honor of Lisa Nelson, a Page, N.D., native and Choice Financial customer battling breast cancer for the second time.

Many employees who participated in the Fargo Marathon wore the T-shirts in celebration of Lisa, and others who didn't run the marathon purchased T-shirts simply to help the cause. Choice was proud to donate $1,235 to the Roger Maris Cancer Center in Nelson's honor.

Nelson stated that she "truly appreciates everything that Choice has done" and that it means a lot to their entire family.

The Random Acts of Kindness program, which started in March 2008, gives each Choice Financial location a monthly allowance to help members of the community regardless of where they bank.

Choice Financial believes in making a difference one random act at a time. "Creating a positive difference in the lives of people with unsuspecting good deeds is the goal of our random acts of kindness program," said Fargo president Gerry Brossart. "Giving a stranger an unexpected gift of kindness or doing something that's not required of you makes us feel good. Pass it on...kindness is contagious."

Choice Financial is a premier provider of financial solutions with nine locations in North Dakota, including two in the Fargo area.
