Cruise Night shaking it up

"This year is going to be great!"

This statement from organizers of the popular second annual session of West Fargo Cruise Night which will fill the city's Sheyenne Street corridor the third Thursday of each month starting tomorrow, June 21, and continuing July 20, Aug. 16 and the second Thursday, Sept. 14, in advance of the Saturday, Sept. 15 West Fest celebration.

"We are trying to bring that small town feel to the streets of West Fargo," said Cody Wendelbo, Toppers Car Club member, promoting the event that visibly proves the hobby of classic cars is indeed live and well.

And there is no doubt the group has been successful in accomplishing just that with thousands of people turning out each Thursday last year to savor all each evening had to offer.

This year promises to be no exception, instead, only bigger and better, driven by word of mouth praise for the unique gathering experience.

Wendelbo is hyped and understandably so, noting the venue will again be laced with a variety of vehicle viewing opportunities and plenty of food vendors to go around.

"We will still have food being sold at Sandy's Donuts, the Silver Dollar, VFW and Stars and Strikes, but we will also have a food court with big spools to stand next to and eat. There will also be a bike corral for motorcycles, plenty of car parking on the streets and some parking lots for classic cars."

As always, there will be members of the Toppers Car Club helping park cars and making it easier for all drivers to get a spot. Jay Thomas from WDAY radio will be doing his show from 2 to 5 p.m. every day with parking starting at 4:30 p.m.

Consequently, everyone is encouraged to either participate or just show up and take in all the family fun-filled evening has to offer.

It's a guarantee that you'll be glad you did, and there's an excellent bet that when the event rolls around again on its next successive Thursday date, you will more than likely be back for more.
