Curious George at Barnes & Noble Dec. 10
Support Metro Youth Partnership's Youth Scholarship Fund
Support Metro Youth Partnership's dream of "making this the best place on the planet to be a kid" by dropping by Barnes and Noble Booksellers, 1201 42nd St. S., Fargo, on Thursday, Dec. 10, from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Curious George will be there from 3 to 5 p.m. for pictures and hugs, and there will be a puppet show, storytime, "Buddy the Reading Dog," and a Tae Kwon Do demo. A travelogue on Egypt will finish off the evening.
Ten percent of most purchases on December 10 at Barnes & Noble will go to Metro Youth Partnership's Youth Activities Scholarship Fund so more kids can play an instrument, take dance lessons, play sports, go to camp, and fan their special "spark." Visit www.bn.com/mybookfair to support MYP online from Dec. 10-Dec. 15 and use Bookfair ID 10054732 at checkout.
"Reading a good book together or encouraging your favorite young person to read for pleasure three or more hours a week builds good things in our families and in our communities," says Barry Nelson, executive director of Metro Youth Partnership. "This is a great opportunity to share good times together while supporting the asset-building work of Metro Youth Partnership."
The activity schedule will feature: the puppet show by West Fargo High School students at 2 p.m.; Anne and "Buddy the Reading Dog" live at 4 p.m.; storytime with Dana Diesel Wallace at 4 p.m. and Doug Hamilton at 4:30 p.m.; the Red River Traditional Tae Kwon Do Demonstration at 5 p.m.; and the "Travel to Egypt in Your Easy Chair" travelogue with Vicki Schmidt at 7 p.m.
