Fair Board to interview manager candidates
Members of the Red River Valley Fair nine-person executive committee will conduct interviews of the four local candidates for the Fair manager position beginning at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 3, in the Hartl Ag Building. Each interview is expected to last 45 minutes.
Those set to be interviewed are: Al Brandt of Fargo, president of Royal Builders Inc.; James Kirsch, Christine, a chemist in the animal and range science department at North Dakota State University; Bryan Schulz of West Fargo, a city commissioner and director of marketing and sports sales for the Fargo Moorhead Convention and Visitors Bureau; and Curt Burdick, West Fargo, who was general manager for Speedway Restaurants for a number of years.
The new manager will fill the spot left open by the dismissal of Wayne Venter by the executive committee last month.
Past Fair Board president Darnell Lundstrom, now serving as vice president, said the Board would like to have someone in place as soon as possible. "Our past manager did not receive a positive evaluation so he was not reappointed. We look forward to hiring someone and basically getting back on track again."
