Increased numbers of West Fargo area seniors are taking advantage of the expanded program opportunities offered following the noon senior meals at Faith Lutheran Church.


All seniors are welcome to attend the free activities, which vary from speakers, board games (such as Yahtzee), musical presentations, monthly birthday celebration, or bingo days. In addition, the West Fargo Library provides interesting and lively activities. The upcoming scheduled activities include:

*April 17, April Birthday Celebrations

*April 19, Advanced Healthcare Directives by Parish Nurses

*April 24, Bingo

*April 26, Nutrition Talk

*May 8, Board Games

*May 15, May Birthday Celebrations

*May 22, Presentation by Pastor Peter and Vicki Schmidt on their grand adventure to Asia and Australia.

*May 29, Bingo

Meal schedules and menus are published in the West Fargo Pioneer and are also available at Faith Lutheran Church. The listing of senior activities appears on the reverse side of each sheet.

Advanced registration for meals is required at least 24 hours in advance by calling 293-1440 or registering on site. Those participating in the meals are asked to make a suggested donation of $3.50 to cover a portion of the $7.50 cost of the meal. Taking part in the meal is not a requirement to attend any of the offered programs.

The senior program offers a great opportunity to meet and socialize with other seniors. Everyone is encouraged to try the meals and attend the activities. Anyone interested in volunteering to help with meals or activities may contact any of the senior program committee members: Mike Reitan, Frank Lenzmeier, Marlene Batterberry, Marvin Leidal,.
