Fargo-Moorhead, West Fargo to spray for mosquitoes tonight and Friday

FARGO - Because of a surge in the number of mosquitoes in recent days, the cities of Fargo, Frontier, West Fargo, Moorhead and Oakport Township will be aerial spraying from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. today and Friday, weather permitting, according to Airborne Custom Spraying.

In order to spray, the wind needs to be less than 10 mph and the temperature needs to be at least 58 degrees. If weather prohibits spraying, spraying may be done the following days.

The spray being used has very little toxicity to people, pets, birds, and other animals. It will not harm paint surfaces for either vehicles or houses.

The Cass County cities of Gardner, Hunter and Mapleton also will spray for mosquitoes at 8:30 p.m. today, according to the county's website.
