Fischer named Exchange Club student of the month

Jacob Fischer, a senior at West Fargo High School, has been named West Fargo Exchange Club Student of the Month for October. The son of Steve and Kathleen Fischer of Horace, he has maintained a 3.98 grade point average.

As a student at West Fargo High Jacob has been active in a variety of academic and athletic endeavors including: serving as president of the National Honor Society and the Renaissance Club; earning an academic letter grades 9 through 11, and track grade 12; participating in cross country junior and senior year; earning variety athletic letter and fine arts letter for participation in band; involved in boy Scouts for six years, earning Eagle Scout honors in December of 2010; participating in several community service projects through scouts including Make a Difference Day and Memorial and Veterans Day Services; and involved in church youth group for four years.

Jacob's future plans include pursuing an interest in aeronautical engineering. He is presently applying for the Air Force Academy, and is looking into attending the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, Ohio State University, or the University of Colorado at Boulder.
