Free state entertainment showcases local talent
The Red River Valley Fair is big on free stage entertainment in 2010. The free stage is an opportunity for local performers to showcase their talents to thousands of people from the surrounding area. Scheduled to perform July 9 through July 11 are Alayna Holkesvig, N.D. Teen Challenge, the FM Square Dancers, Roger Kling, Sarah Rowell, Cameron MacKenzie, Raven Darkcloud, Greg Hager, and a talent showcase for a music fundraiser.
"The free stage has always been a fair favorite," stated assistant manager Jodi Buresh. "The kind of talent that comes from the Red River Valley amazes me."
Opening day of the Fair there will be a variety of talent for everyone to enjoy. Cameron MacKenzie will start out the day, followed by Sarah Rowell, and Alayna Holkesvig. N.D. Teen Challenge is a choir coming from Bismarck to showcase their talents, with the FM Square Dancers closing out the day.
The second day of the Fair will begin with Roger Kling, a pianist, performing self-written music along with radio favorites. Raven Darkcloud, an organic folk rock singer songwriter, will entertain fairgoers in the afternoon, with the FM Square Dancers again the concluding act.
The talent showcase, presented by Natalie Sparrow, kicking off Sunday at the Fair, will showcase young musicians. Roger Kling will entertain the crowd in the afternoon, followed up by last year's favorite Greg Hager.
